For centuries, Greyhounds and Galgos were revered. In ancient Egypt, they stood beside pharaohs as symbols of loyalty and grace. In medieval Europe, they were the prized companions of aristocrats, reserved for royalty alone. They were treasured, protected, and celebrated.

Today, their reality is brutally different. Greyhounds bred for racing are discarded the moment they stop winning. Galgos used for hunting in Spain face even crueler fates, with many abandoned, tortured, or killed when the season ends. A past of privilege has become a present of survival.

Greyhounds & Galgos of London is a fine art photography series and book that shows these dogs not as tools, but as the dignified beings they are. London is home to countless rescued Greyhounds and Galgos, navigating a modern world many assume does not suit them. Against the city’s historic streets and enduring architecture, they are placed and captured in spaces as majestic as they themselves are.

Fragments of this series form this calendar. It is both a tribute and a plea, asking us to see these dogs for who they truly are and to give them the stability and recognition they deserve. In collaboration with Project Galgo, the project supports rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption, helping to ensure these dogs finally receive the care and protection they were once promised.
